Flow dependency of Electrolytic Solution Resistance
Does the resistance of a solution change when it is flowing? The goal of my profile project was to answer exactly that question. In the end, I did find some effect. However, as always, reality is more complex than expected, so more research is needed to better understand it. In the future, this effect could be exploited to build non-mechanical, tiny and/or ultra low-power flow sensors. You can watch a short summary of it here.
You can read the full article here. Alternatively, if you want to have a go at doing some analysis yourself, you can find the full dataset here (56MB download!) and download the analysis software here. Want to do some measurements yourself? The python software running the test setup can be downloaded here, and the Arduino sketch for managing the hardware here.
